The SBA Institute is an active participant in the US Green Building Council’s Education Provider Program (EPP). The USGBC has performed a rigorous review of the SBA Program and has approved it as a Level 400 (Mastery) Program.

Emerge

Initiated in late 2011 by Kathleen O’Brien, nationally renowned sustainability expert and visionary, and instrumental in the development and success of the Sustainable Building Advisor Program, the Emerge Leadership Project offers leadership training and mentoring to dedicated green building advocates. ELP promotes “emergence” — a systems-based approach to leadership designed to bring about more lasting and truly integrated solutions to our environmental, economic, and societal dilemmas.

As the commercial building initiative of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, BetterBricks, champions the guiding principle that commercial buildings should be designed and operated with energy top of mind. The goal is to accelerate the adoption of energy efficiency best practices among real-world building professionals.

i-SUSTAIN

i-SUSTAIN partners with public and private leaders of the Built Environment to understand, adapt and further evolve Global Best Practices in Urban Sustainability. Graduates of the SBA Program are eligible for discounts on study missions.

For seven years i-SUSTAIN has researched, visited and documented Global Best Practices in Urban Sustainability. It has led dozens of study missions to 9 countries, introducing decision makers from the Pacific Northwest to best practices, and to the experts responsible for their implementation. In our region, we have also shared the knowledge and created campaigns, events and publications to help create a common vocabulary among the professionals of the built environment. We now offer a variety of consulting services to help our clients implement Global Best Practices in their cities.
